How to Check if Your Smartphone Supports 4G LTE Network

Did my smartphone supportd 4TE network? That's what I hear from some individuals. Wearexcited about the trend in Nigeria 4G telecommunications industry. First, MTN 4G LTE launch was followed by Glo 4G LTE, and more recently Etisalat network providers joined 4G LTE

If you have Android smartphones, Blackberry, iPhone, or Windows Mobile device, you must know if your smartphone support for 4G LTE network. Perhaps thinking about buying a new device, without the right information about what to buy 4G-enabled device, you can just missed.


 4G LTE Network On Android

For users of Android, go to Settings >> Network settings >> The mobile network. It should give you a dropdown menu with mobile standards such as 2G, 3G or LTE (4G). If you do not see 4G or LTE, the smart phone is not compatible with the standard.


4G LTE Network On iphone

In the iPhone, go to Settings> General> Cellular> Enable 4G LTE.



4G LTE network Windows

Windows Phone, go to Settings> Celluar + Sim >greater connection speed and see if LTE is one of the options.


BlackBerry 4G LTE network

Go to Settings >> System >> Network and Mobile Network Connection >> see 4G and 3G and 2G. However, if you use Blackberry Q5 and below, you will not get 4G network services.

Once you have selected LTE and 4G are on a network, the symbol "LTE" appears in the phone's status bar, or to replace or symbols "3G" "H" "2G".

Supported Band Frequencies of 4G LTE Networks in Nigeria

  1. NTEL supports band 3(1800) and 8(900)Mhz
  2. MTN 4G supports band 7(2600MHz)  and 20 (800MHz)
  3. Glo 4G supports band 28 (700MHz)
  4. Etisalat 4G supports LTE band 3 (1800)MHz
Therefore to use 4G LTE Network, you’ll need to buy a phone that supports the LTE Bands listed above.
